Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall Edit Essence or its affiliates be held responsible for any loss, damage, or liability arising out of the use of, or reliance upon, any material or services provided on this website. Edit Essence shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

The term “Edit Essence” includes its divisions, partners, employees, agents, contractors, and all associated entities. Although we take every precaution to safeguard documents submitted by clients, Edit Essence cannot be held responsible for loss of files or data due to technical failure, viruses, system errors, or other unforeseen events beyond our control. Clients are advised to maintain backup copies of all submitted materials. Edit Essence will not be held liable for any loss or corruption of data.

Edit Essence’s responsibility is limited solely to editing and related services as defined under our service descriptions. The opinions and content within the documents remain entirely the responsibility of the original author.

In all circumstances, Edit Essence’s maximum liability for any delay, defect, or issue shall be limited to the invoiced value of the service in question.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, India.

Replacement, Cancellation, and Expiration Policy

Our cancellation and replacement policies are designed to ensure a smooth process and minimize errors. Please review the details below:

Replacement Policy

Files cannot be replaced once editing has begun or revisions are in process.
A replacement is allowed only if the wrong file was initially submitted for editing.

Cancellation Policy for Editing Services

Cancellations are permitted only if an incorrect file was submitted for editing.
All cancellations must be requested by emailing orders@editessence.com.
If editing has already started, the replacement will be treated as a cancellation.
A cancellation fee will apply based on the progress of the work.

Cancellation Policy for Publication Support Packages

Discounts or waivers at the time of booking are subject to Edit Essence’s discretion in case of cancellation.
Replacing files after confirmation will be considered as a cancellation.
All publication support cancellations must be emailed to publish@editessence.com.
Cancellation fees will depend on the amount of work already completed.

Refund After Cancellation

Transaction fees and transfer charges will be deducted from the refund.
No refunds are possible under the following circumstances:
- Payment not made via PayPal
- Refund amount less than USD 100
- Cancellation made after 15 days of order placement
- Invoice with VAT already issued
In such cases, the amount may be adjusted toward future orders.

Expiration Policy

If we do not receive your response or required inputs within 365 days after the last delivered service, your project will be considered complete and closed.

Discounts

Total applicable discounts (including promotional, coupon, or loyalty discounts) cannot exceed 50% of the order value.

Journal URL

It is the client’s responsibility to provide a valid and accessible journal URL for formatting. Edit Essence may not follow up if the provided link is inactive, inaccessible, or non-English.

Quotation

Once a quotation is accepted via email, it is treated as a confirmed order. Clients are responsible for payment as per the agreed quotation.

Email Address

By sharing your email address, you authorize Edit Essence to send service updates and offers. You may unsubscribe at any time. For EU clients, promotional emails are sent only with explicit consent.

Delivery of Files

All edited files are delivered within the agreed deadline. If you do not receive your file, check your spam folder or contact us immediately.

User Content

By submitting content, you grant Edit Essence a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, store, and process your documents solely for service delivery and improvement. We never share or sell your content.

Intellectual Property

All documents submitted remain your intellectual property. Edit Essence and its editors make no claim over client-owned material. We maintain full confidentiality as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

Notification of Changes

Edit Essence reserves the right to modify or update these terms at any time. Continued use of our services implies acceptance of such changes.

Destruction of Documents

Edit Essence retains documents for a limited period as per our internal policies. Clients may request permanent deletion by contacting us in writing.

Website Usage

This website and its content are owned by Edit Essence and protected by copyright laws. Copying, redistributing, or reproducing any part of this website without permission is prohibited.

Other Conditions

Edit Essence reserves the right to terminate services immediately if a client violates these terms or acts in a manner detrimental to our operations.

Word Count Reduction

Complimentary word count reduction is offered up to 10% for Copy Editing and up to 20% for Substantive Editing. Further reduction may incur additional charges. Formatting services do not include word reduction.

Advance Payment

Full advance payment is required before work begins unless otherwise approved by Edit Essence. In exceptional cases, alternative arrangements can be made upon request.
